Vail’s first weeks of winter will bring free outdoor concerts to Vail Village, along with silent discos, skating shows and holiday events. If you want a low-cost evening in town, the Stoke Sessions series is the simplest place to start.
Discover Vail lists three Stoke Sessions dates between Nov. 13 and Dec. 4, 2026. The concerts are at Checkpoint Charlie in Vail Village from 4 to 7 p.m. The organizer describes the series as free. Check the current Vail Après schedule before traveling; event details can change.
The confirmed Stoke Sessions lineup
- Friday, Nov. 13: Float Like a Buffalo, 4–7 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 20: The Sponges, 4–7 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 4: Welshly Arms, 4–7 p.m.
All three appear on Discover Vail’s winter event page. The schedule does not list a Nov. 27 Stoke Sessions show, so do not assume the concert runs every Friday without checking the dated lineup.
More to do without making it a ski day
The broader Vail Après calendar lists silent discos on several Wednesdays beginning Nov. 18, ice skating exhibitions starting Nov. 27, and tree-lighting events in Lionshead on Nov. 27 and Vail Village on Dec. 6. Admission and access vary by event. Use each event listing to confirm whether tickets or registration are needed.
For a different indoor evening, Vail also has a returning hockey schedule at Dobson Ice Arena. The arena’s reopening concert is separately listed for Nov. 28; it is not part of the free Stoke Sessions lineup.
The easy plan: choose a specific date, confirm the event page on the day you go, and dress for an outdoor mountain-town show. You can hear live music without buying a lift ticket.
