Hockey fans have a homecoming to look forward to this winter. The Vail Yeti are scheduled to play at Dobson Arena again after the facility’s renovation, and the public calendar gives residents their first dates to circle.

The Vail Recreation District says arena programming will begin in November 2026. Its event list includes a Yeti vs. Yeti fundraiser game on Saturday, Nov. 7, followed by regular Yeti matchups in December. The listed home games start with Jackson Hole on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4–5. Games against the Denver Leafs are listed for Dec. 18–19.

Those are the organizer’s current listings, not a guarantee against later changes. Check the Dobson calendar and Vail Yeti information before buying tickets or making plans.

More than a hockey reopening

Dobson is also expected to bring back public skating, youth hockey and other community uses. The recreation district lists youth hockey registration now, with fall programs beginning in November. It also lists a Nov. 28 reopening concert featuring Trampled by Turtles and Old Crow Medicine Show.

The arena is at 320 E. Lionshead Circle. The recreation district directs visitors to the Lionshead Parking Structure, a short walk away. Public-skating schedules were still marked as forthcoming on the district’s page when this story was prepared, so residents should check again for sessions and prices rather than assume a time is available.

For Yeti fans, the return means games can again be part of a winter evening in Vail. For families, Dobson’s reopening promises more options on the ice even when the team is away. The next useful details to watch are confirmed opening dates, public-skating hours and ticket availability.
