The Vail Sportsmanship Tournament brings youth hockey to two Eagle County rinks this weekend. The 14U A division is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8, with games at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail and Eagle Pool & Ice Rink in Eagle. Check the Vail Mountaineer Hockey Club’s tournament page and its team schedule before traveling; individual game times and rink assignments can change.

Which tournament games are this weekend?

The Mountaineer Hockey Club lists the Nov. 6–8 weekend for the 14U A division. The club says the annual Sportsmanship Tournament spans five fall weekends, with the final three using both the renovated Dobson Arena and Eagle Pool & Ice Rink. Teams and families should use the division information on the organizer’s site for the latest details. The registration fees shown there are team fees, not spectator ticket prices.

The tournament continues with 12U A and B games Nov. 13–15 and 10U A and B games Nov. 20–22. Those are the organizer’s listed dates as of Nov. 5.

Weekend Listed division Venues
Nov. 6–8 14U A Dobson Ice Arena and Eagle Pool & Ice Rink
Nov. 13–15 12U A and B Dobson Ice Arena and Eagle Pool & Ice Rink
Nov. 20–22 10U A and B Dobson Ice Arena and Eagle Pool & Ice Rink

Is the Vail Yeti game part of the weekend?

Saturday has a separate hockey event at Dobson. Discover Vail’s current event listing shows a Vail Mountaineers 14U A tournament game at 5:45 p.m., Yeti warmups at 7:30 p.m., and the Vail Yeti exhibition game at 8 p.m. on Nov. 7. The listing has a ticket link for the exhibition. Check it before going; do not assume a tournament game and the Yeti event use the same admission arrangements.

For more background on the arena’s reopening and the Yeti’s December dates, read our Dobson Arena and Vail Yeti guide. The Nov. 7 event’s current name and schedule are on the Discover Vail event page.

Before you go

  • Find your game: Check the Mountaineers schedule for the team, time and rink. The tournament uses locations in both Vail and Eagle.
  • Confirm spectator arrangements: The organizer’s tournament page does not state a general spectator price. Ask the organizer or venue before assuming admission is free or ticketed.
  • Plan parking: Consult Town of Vail parking information for current rules near Dobson. Check the Eagle rink’s directions separately if your game is there.
  • For the Yeti exhibition: Follow the event’s ticket and schedule link rather than a tournament team-registration link.

The 47th annual tournament is an early-season chance to see local and visiting youth teams on the ice, including games at Dobson after its renovation. A quick schedule check will save you a trip to the wrong rink.
