Vail Christian’s boys golfers have a new place in school history.
The Saints won their first boys golf state championship, taking the 2026 Class 2A team title at Pueblo Country Club by 26 strokes, according to the Colorado Golf Association.
A clear margin at the top
Vail Christian posted team rounds of 235 and 236 for a total of 471. Runner-up Rye finished at 497, followed by Monte Vista at 498. The team standings count the best three individual scores per round.
Cian Courtney shot 76 in both rounds to tie for third individually at 152. Fellow Saint Wyatt Hansen finished one stroke behind at 153. See the Colorado Golf Association’s results and coverage.
Four Saints earn Colorado Preps recognition
The championship was followed by recognition in the Colorado Preps Elite all-state selections.
Cian Courtney, Wyatt Hansen and Luke Tyler appear on its Class 2A first team. Patrick Greer is listed on the second team. All four are identified as seniors.
Colorado Preps says its selections consider both regular-season and state-tournament performances. These are the outlet’s awards, separate from the championship standings. View its full all-state selections.
For friends, families and supporters following the Saints, that offers two ways to celebrate: the result the team earned together and the season-long performances recognized individually.
