Monday, Oct. 26, is the recommended last day to mail your ballot for Colorado’s Nov. 3 general election, according to the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder. It is not the last day to vote. If you have not mailed your ballot by then, use an official ballot drop box or a voter service and polling center instead.

What matters is when the ballot arrives: the county must receive it by 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. A postmark does not count. The county also says voters can deliver their ballot to any Colorado county-controlled ballot box or vote center. See Eagle County’s 2026 election guidance.

Eagle County ballot drop boxes: seven 24-hour locations

The county lists these secure, 24-hour ballot boxes. Each closes at 7 p.m. on Election Day. Check the county’s live location page before you travel.

  • Avon: Town of Avon Municipal Building, 100 Mikaela Way.
  • Basalt: Town of Basalt Municipal Building, 101 Midland Ave.
  • Eagle: Eagle County Building, 500 Broadway.
  • Edwards: Eagle County Commons, 410 Miller Ranch Road.
  • El Jebel: Clerk and Recorder’s Office, 20 Eagle County Drive.
  • Gypsum: Town of Gypsum Municipal Building, 50 Lundgren Blvd.
  • Vail: Town of Vail Municipal Building, 75 S. Frontage Road West.

Before dropping off your ballot, place it in its return envelope and sign the envelope. If you have already mailed it, use the county’s ballot-tracking information to follow its status.

Need a replacement ballot or help voting?

A voter service and polling center can help you register or update your registration, obtain a replacement ballot, vote in person, or return a completed ballot. Eagle County lists four centers:

  • Edwards: Eagle County Commons, 410 Miller Ranch Road. Open weekdays Oct. 19–Nov. 2, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.; and Election Day, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • El Jebel: Clerk and Recorder’s Office, 20 Eagle County Drive. The same dates and hours as Edwards.
  • Eagle: Eagle County Building, 500 Broadway. Open weekdays Oct. 26–Nov. 2, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Election Day, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Vail: The Grand View atop the Lionshead Parking Structure, 395 S. Frontage Road West. Open weekdays Oct. 28–Nov. 2, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., and Election Day, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

These are vote-center hours, not the hours of the 24-hour drop boxes. The county says there is no voter-registration deadline for eligible voters who register and vote in person at a vote center. Oct. 26 is the last day to submit an online or mailed registration update and receive a replacement ballot by mail. After that, visit a vote center for a ballot. Check the county’s full election schedule.

A simple plan for the final week

If your completed ballot is ready on Monday, mailing remains an option, but the county recommends getting it into the mail no later than Oct. 26. For a more direct return, choose one of its official drop boxes. If you need a ballot or voting assistance, check the opening date of the nearest vote center. Then track your ballot so you can see when election officials receive and accept it.
